April 27 to 30, 2015; Purchased of a new vehicle

APR 27 to 30; Another month gone by and the purchase of a new vehicle

We had rain this morning (Monday) but the sun came out in the afternoon and it got much warmer.  Tuesday, after work, Val had a dinner meet at Boston Pizza where most of the “young and I do mean young” employees where having a gathering.  Val was very happy enjoying herself and trying to fit in of which she did a decent job.  Anyway, after dinner (dutch) one of the manager handed out certificates and Val won the “Best Lobby Maid” and a small gift.  It was all good fun!  Wednesday was payday for me so after work, I deposited my cheque.  I was home by 3:30 pm and beat Val who got off at 4 pm.  When I got home I called Verizon to once again cancel my contract which actually ended in March but they are still sending me bills.  Hopefully they got the message after all this.  Thursday was my usual transport day and a full load it was.  I was home by 4 pm.  We had a quiet evening and tomorrow, I head for Kamloops to my nose specialist appointment.

April 20 to 26, 2015; Work and purchased of a new vehicle for us

APR 20 to 24; More work
Week began in the shop cutting and installing slot boards and running errands and washing all the trucks. Tuesday and Wednesday was more work in the shop painting, building and door framing.  It rained on Wednesday but the sun did come out in the afternoon.  Thursday was transport day going to Burnaby and doing some pick up and drop off.  Back at the shop, I loaded the truck with windows and doors to be delivered on Friday.  Last day of the week and it was an easy quiet one.  After delivering in Agassiz, I came back to the shop and finished off the doorway between both shops then painting the frame and put the door back on.  I did a couple of minor jobs then was home by 3 pm.  Val was away at Rochelle’s house doing laundry.  She also did some grocery shopping.  Our evening was a quiet one at home.

APR 25, Saturday; shopping for a new car
Tried but couldn’t sleep in so I was up by 6:30 am!  It poured rain all evening yesterday and overnight too but now the sun is trying to peek through and the forecast is for improved weather today and warmer.  It only got to 48*F yesterday and we even had a hail storm as I was driving home.  We’ve been thinking about replacing Val’s car, the Elantra.  It is old (01) and is beginning to show its age.  It has been good to us but maybe it’s time to look for something newer.  We did see and try a couple of cars we liked but resisted making any deals yet.  At 5:30pm, we drove to Port Coquitlam and met friends Donna & Marcel, Theresa & Ron where we went to see a show and dinner at the “GIGGLE DAM”.  It was a comedy on the “Roaring 20’s” and we had a marvellous time, a great dinner and lots of laughs; the place was full!  We got home at midnight and went straight to bed!

APR 26, Sunday; shopping in Abbotsford

I actually slept in this morning, sort of!  I woke up at 6:30 but forced myself to go back to sleep and got up at 8:30 am.  After breakfast, we drove to ABBOTSFORD to look at more vehicles at an Auto Mall.  Only two dealers were open; the first one had nothing in our price range but the second one, Hyundai Dealer, had a Santa Fe that we took for a drive and fell in love with.  We did some haggling over the price and it came down to a price which we could accept so before we knew it, we were the proud owners of a 2008 grey Hyundai Santa Fe.  It has 126 thousand kilometer on it and runs like a charm.  We have a one year warranty on it too.  We traded the Elantra for it.  We drove away in our new vehicle and went to Costco to get some buns and vitamins than came back home but first stopped at Rochelle and Kevin to show them the new vehicle.  We had dinner than watched our favorite programs, MADAM SECRETARY and GOOD WIFE.

April 9 to 19, 2015; Work and shopping

APR 9, Thursday
I was on the road by 7 am delivering doors in Agassiz.  Afterwards, I went to Aldergrove to pick up then delivered it to the job site in Chwk.  Worked around the shop and call it quit at 4 pm.  Val put in a full day today!

APR 10, Friday
It clouded over in the afternoon and we ended the day with rain!  Another shop day and came home by 3:30 pm.  Val worked a full day almost.  We watched some of our recorded programs after dinner then to bed early

APR 11, Saturday; shopping
Cloudy this morning although the sun is trying to come out.  We had a lazy morning then went to Home Depot to exchange a drawer slide that was too short.  We also bought a new toilet seat as ours split on one side; don’t know how it happened!??  Anyway, we went to Cdn Tire and bought a counter oven and a new shower head that Val saw an advertisement about.  We drove to Rochelle and Kevin for Happy Hour and Val did a load of laundry at the same time.  There was quite a crowd this time, Kevin’s uncle, Henry and Terry from Winfield, Sid and Vera, friends Russ and Cathy, Hayley and later Graeme and Courtenay showed up.  Rochelle had prepared some finger food and later we ordered pizzas.  We had a great time and as per usual, Happy hour turned out HOUR(S).  Graeme brought their wedding movie so we also watched that.

APR 12, Sunday;
We had a mix of sun, clouds and rain today!  I managed to set up the BBQ and a couple of other things outside.  We went to Cdn Tire to return the shower head and bought a new sewer hose; ours was leaking.  It was a quiet evening at home after a good dinner.

APR 13 to 17; Work week
Deliveries on Monday, shop on Tuesday, new offices coming together, we got the new furniture for Kevin’s office and put the lot together; three of us worked on that on Friday.  It was a good week and only had two days of rain.  Forecast is for sunshine and very warm for the week-end.  Friday evening, Val and I went to Mr Mike’s restaurant and had a marvelous dinner with Rochelle and Kevin as our guest.  We had good laughs and a good time.

APR 18; Saturday
Val went to Rochelle’s house and did a load of laundry.  I spent a good part of the day dumping our tanks and cleaning out the lockers on the driver side.  For some reason, water got in there and it was a mess.  I took everything out and will let it dry up.  At 3:30 pm, we had HH at R&K then home for dinner and a relaxing evening.  It was sunny and warm as forecasted.

APR 19; Sunday;
After a lazy morning, I worked some more on the lockers, cleaning and airing them out.  Val went for a walk with a friend on the Vedder Trail.  I BBQ’ed dinner then it was movie time on the tube

April 1 to 8, 2015; long W/E on the water

APRIL 1, 2015; Wednesday, back to work!
More rain overnight.  My day consisted of working around the shop in the am then I made a delivery to Sea Island, Agassiz.  After lunch, I went to Aldergrove to pick up a door then after returning at the shop, unloading the door and putting it away then cleaned up the shop and that was my day!  I was home by 3:30pm and made a few repairs around the house that needed my attention.  After dinner, we watched the tube and I was in bed early.

APR 2, Thursday; Pick-up day!
A busy day driving and picking stuff and frames for a job in Sardis.  I took this load to the job site and left the frames there. (The smallest one was 24 feet long).  I unloaded the rest at the shop and it was time to call it quit.
At home, we packed, picked up Johnny and we drove to Port Moody and met Jeffrey at his boat.  We all went out for dinner at a local pub then went back to his boat and proceeded to have a mini party (read drink).  We were in bed by 11 pm

APR 3, Friday, to Secret Cove
We were motoring by 9 am after a late starts and had rain and south-easterly wind which meant behind us.  The wind got pretty strong so it was a good thing it was behind.  We arrived in Secret Cove north of Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast.  After docking and paying for the night, we went to the local pub for dinner and a couple brews.  We came back to the boat and proceeded to get serious in the drinking part.  In bed by midnight.

APR 4, Saturday, to Pender Harbour, Sunshine Coast
We all slept in this morning and finally got going by noon, a bit hung over!  An hour later we were docked in Pender Harbour.  The weather turned out better than anticipated and we even got sunshine.  We went for a short walk exploring and found the local pub in the next Marina where we had lunch.  This was a relaxing day.  We did end up drinking and having more laughs.

APR 5, Sunday; back to Vancouver
We were greeted by a beautiful sunshine and calm winds.  We were motoring by 9 am and were abeam Gibson by noon.  We decided to go in and have lunch there at “MOLLY’s REACH”, a restaurant made famous by a local TV program back in the late 90’s.  We were back at our home dock by 5 pm and after packing everything back up to the car, we said our goodbyes to Jeff and drove home.  We were home by 9 pm and in bed by 10!

APR 6, Monday; to work
Kevin and Rochelle were back in the office this morning and it was good to see them again.  I did some work around the shop and made a couple deliveries and one pick up in Langley.

APR 7, Tuesday; a new project
I went to Aldergrove to pick up frames and hardware and delivered the lot to our new job site in Sardis.  I had to go back to pick up a second load then dropped off some parts at the hop and took some old stuff to the “home shop”.  The rest of the day was spent at new job site.  Rochelle moved into her new office, she had enough of the old one and wants the new view.

APR 8, Wednesday;
 Another busy day at work!  Val went to work for 4 hrs then spent the rest of the day doing laundry.  A relaxing evening at home ended the day
