December 26 to 31, 2014; End of another year

DEC 26, Friday; Boxing Day Sales
We didn’t get up until 9 pm under cloudy skies and the snow level almost halfway down the surrounding mountains!  We went to the Mall as Val had to buy a pair of shoes for her upcoming job.  We won $12 from all the games tickets we got from X-Mas presents so got more tickets.  We stopped at R&K to pick up a cooking pot we left behind last night and ended having lunch there along with a nice visit.  At home, I had a snooze and woke up in time for the news and dinner.

DEC 27, Saturday; Visit with Jenaya and McKinley
We left around noon and drove to Coquitlam.  We stopped for a quick snack then continued on.  Our day was really great with lots of fun with the kids and mom and dad too of course.  McKinley was very happy with her doll and we watched a movie about the doll.  A nice story!  Jenaya was also extremely pleased with her present: a Samsung tablet so it was a good day for both of them.  We had dinner with them and spent a wonderful evening but like all good things, it was time for the girls bedtime and our departure soon after.  We arrived home around midnight under clear sky.

DEC 28, Sunday; Laundry and football
I woke up this morning to a nice sunrise and lots of snow on the mountains.  I posted some pics on FACEBOOK then it was time for breakfast, shower and football.  Val did the laundry.  We were invited by our landlords to come and watch the football game (Seattle Seahawks vs St-Louis Ram) so we went and had a nice afternoon.  We came down after the game and got dinner ready then watched the tube in the evening.

DEC 29, Monday;
No work today which was somewhat strange; I am off all this week. Gorgeous sunshine but coooold (-2*C)!!!  I went into town to check on the MH but the place is closed for the Holidays, Darn!  I stopped at the grocery store to get milk then came home in time to see Val off to her orientation.  She will be there from 3 to 7 pm.  I had left over stew for dinner then went to R&K for a short visit before they leave for a short vacation over New Year.  Val had a good training session and she says she will enjoy this.

DEC 30, Tuesday;
Very cold his morning and sunny (-5*C @ 9 am); glad I am off!
Very frustrated with this this thing, it keeps doing all kinds of strange things.  I picked up my paycheck, deposited it then went to “EARL’s” and made reservations for us for tomorrow evening.  I then drove to BEST BUY in Abbotsford and had then check out the laptop.  It turns out that I was hitting the “mouse pad” when typing so he showed me showed how to turn it off (key fn & F7) and the same to turn it on.  I came home and stopped for a bite to eat; Val is gone to her job for more training.  Oh, and I also received a new winter jacket from “Window & Door” with my name on it!  Pretty neat, it is brown with the company logo.

DEC 31, Wednesday; End of another very interesting year!
Sunny and cold one last time this year!  We went to Fort Langley for a “looky-look”; boy has it ever grown!!  The downtown is pretty well the same but dozens of condos have been built behind the pub with a new street.  Of course the ferry no longer operates.  We had lunch here at the pub then drove to Mt Lehman and checked out the new Mall, not impressed!  We came back to Chwk and checked out the theatres then home for a short rest before heading to “EARL’s” for a free dinner (Christmas present).

                                                          HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

December 23 to 25, 2014; Christmas with family

DEC 23 Tuesday; 2 days to Christmas!
More driving today!  I went to Richmond and a 2.5 hour trip turned into 5 hours because of two serious accidents; one on Hwy 17 and the other on Hwy 1.  It rained all day and I have no doubt it played a part into the mishaps.  Anyway, I made it back to the office and after unloading the truck, I helped in the year-end inventory.  At 3 pm, Rochelle and Kevin separated the presents received from companies they deal with and we split them between all the employees; I got two bottle of wines.  I got the windshield on the Jeep replaced today; I had a crack in it and 3 chips ready to spread.  A quiet evening at home and I finally heard from my brother Johnny.  He says he will be at Rochelle for dinner on X-mas day!

DEC 24, Wednesday; Christmas Eve
Last partial day of work for this year!  I am off now until January 5th.  I went in at 8 am, took the truck I drive over to the garage down the road to have the batteries secured; there’s been a rash of battery theft from business trucks in town lately.  The Delivery truck always stays at the shop, overnight and week-ends whereas the other three are taken home.  I was home by ten!  Well, as I suspected, Johnny never showed up and phoned around 4 with some excuses.  No surprise there!!!
We had a quiet evening at home enjoying a drink and watching some Christmas show.

DEC 25, Thursday; MERRY CHRISTMAS!
 We had a nice breakfast then got ready for a busy day!  I packed all the presents in the Jeep and boiled the potatoes for the dinner later (2 full pot).  Brother Johnny arrived at 12:30 pm which allowed us to catch up to his news.  We drove to Rochelle and Kevin at 2 pm where Jeffrey had already arrived.  Doreen and Gord got there around 3 pm and the grand-kids finally arrived around 5 pm.  We soon were seated at the table (13 in all) and proceeded to devour the food that Rochelle and Kevin worked so hard in preparing.  It was delicious.  Afterwards, we moved to the Living Room and Santa (read me) gave out the presents.  We had fun and it was so nice to be in the presence of all the kids.  I really enjoyed my moments.  Soon, it was time to move on and we got home around midnight
IT WAS A FANTASTIC DAY!!!
