August 19 to 25, 2010; Wedding Bells!!!!!

AUG 19, thursday, Harrison Lake
We slept in this morning. Sid and Vera arrived around noon and after setting up beside us, the four of us went for a walk around the village and the beach. We had happy hour back at our rig then went to the pub for dinner. Jeffrey and Debbie joined us at the pub and we had a very nice visit and dinner. We called it an early night.

AUG 20, Friday, Wedding Day!
We were up early and Jeff came over for a visit. We had breakfast then just kind of sat around until it was time to get ready.
The wedding was at 3 p.m. and started fashionably 15 minutes late. The bride, my grand-daughter Vanessa, was gorgeous if I may say so myself. It was outside and the day was perfect for it with a slight wind to keep everyone refreshed. Needless to say I took a million pictures and will post some soon. After the ceremony, the grand-parents, uncles and other family members ended up in the bar at the hotel until the reception began inside at 6 p.m.
Everything went according to plan and was perfect. The food was extraordinarily delicious and plentiful and the wine flowed freely throughout the whole evening. A “toonie” bar was set up in the rear for anyone wanting hard liquor and beer. Rochelle and Kevin (bride’s parents) and Lana & Bruce (groom’s parents) did an excellent job and we are all very proud of them. There was the usual toasts to the bride, speeches and a few charades for the bride and groom’s benefit. Fun was had by ALL and the we danced and boogie till the wee hours.
A GREAT DAY!

AUG 21, Saturday, Moving to Chilliwack
A hang over was the result this morning. We went for breakfast then left for Rochelle & Kevin’s house in Sardis. We parked in the yard beside the house, hooked up then it was chores time...returning rented items such as glasses, piano and music instruments to name a few. Val help Rochelle while I helped Kevin.
Kevin BBQ’ed steaks for dinner and Val made the salad.

AUG 22, Sunday, BBQ Day
Kevin and Rochelle had a BBQ for the family on both side and about 30 people showed up. It was also an occasion for the newlyweds to open the gifts from their parents and grand-parents. Again more pictures taking! The food served was fabulous and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Everyone left in the latter part of the afternoon and it was clean up time once again for us left behind. The newlyweds retired to their little nest below in the basement ensuite while we cleaned up

AUG 23, Monday, Back to the Shuswap
We left around noon after saying goodbye to everyone. We stopped at Walmart for Val then bought 2 dozen of Chilliwack Jubilee Corn, famous for its sweetness and the BEST!
The drive over the Coquihalla was uneventful and we got home around 5 pm to a new extended cement pad. We set up and relaxed

AUG 24, Tuesday, chore day
Val went to work and I went to Salmon Arm to return my suit, take her dress to the dry-cleaner and get our mail. Then I came home and bottled wine in Chase and did the laundry. For happy hours, we went over to Ed and Judy who was having almost every neighbours around for a happy hour. We came home early, had dinner then watched the tube for a while and went to bed.

AUG 25, Wednesday, back to the routine
We both went to work today so it’s back to the routine. Val learned that her uncle Russ passed away on the Island. It was expected and just a matter of time. It doesn’t make it any easier.
