September 8 to 14, 2008

SEPT. 8 & 9, Monday & Tuesday

Been in touch with Fleetwood. Apparently our parts should be shipped by the end of the week. Picked a package and our mail from Gilles' place
It rained most of Tuesday.

SEPT. 10, Wednesday

We left the house around 10 a.m. and went to "Les Soeurs" Islands (the Sisters) just across Champlain bridge. We found a parking spot and cycled out across this long bridge build for Expo '67 as a rail bridge and now called "Estacade". It is used mainly by pedestrians and cyclists with some, but rare, cars going across the mid channel Island. Once at the mid-channel island, we turned west and cycled to the end by St-Catherine where a lock is situated. I almost cycled into a skunk...saw it just in time. There is a small park at the Locks where we had lunch and watched the Lachine rapids on the St-Lawrence river.
This was an 11 km trip one way. After lunch, we cycled back to Les Soeurs Island and our truck.
A good day. Took a few pictures and downloaded them

SEPT. 11, Thursday

Once again we went cycling. This time we drove to the foot of Jacques-Cartier, parked then cycled west again along Hwy 20 and the river to St-Lambert locks where we crossed to Mid-Island then to the Concord Bridge. This took us to St-Helene Island where we were a few days ago. We had lunch in a neat little park overseeing Montreal. From here, we cycled to the Old port in Montreal, looked around, had a beer then headed back.
Another great day of cycling. It took us 4 hours to complete the cycle. Not a bad day. Took more pictures and downloaded them

SEPT. 12, Friday

Heard from Fleetwood....our parts have been shipped and should be here Monday or Tuesday. Also heard from St-Cyr that the right leg was bend which was causing most of the problems. This part has been ordered and is on its way. How nice of them to inform us this late!!????
Went with Therese to pick up her cigarettes on Indian land ( a quarter of the price one would pay normally) and also some groceries on the way back. Stopped at "l'Equipper" and bought some shorts and pants for me and a shirt for Val.
After dinner, Johnny and Ginette came over and we had a fire and stayed up until 1 a.m.

SEPT. 13, Saturday

Helped Michel get some lumber at RENO. While there, I stopped at "Best Buy" and bought a new laptop: A Toshiba with Vista Window and Intel Pentium
Johnny and Ginette came over for dinner, we had another fire and a very nice visit.

SEPT. 14, Sunday

Rain and at times heavy. It stopped in the afternoon. We all went to the Mall and walked around and had lunch
We had heavy winds in the evening, left over from Hurricane Ike. It was very humid and warm today. 35*C with the Humidex
