January 30 to February 4, 2007

This has been a very slow and quiet week. Rain, clouds and cold weather has been our mainstay. Today, Sunday, is sunny and the temperature is supposed to go to 64*F...It's 60 right now at 3 p.m. I took advantage of it and washed the truck in and out and vacuum it. It was overdue and the wheel wells were filled with mud. Val took advantage of my being away and vacuum the house and did her thing.

On the 1st of Feb. we went to Corpus Christi via hwy 35 and 361. We drove onto the beach and drove for 3 miles before turning off back onto the hwy. We could have kept going but the time was moving on and we still had to go to town. It was fun and there were lots of other trucks and cars. See the "picture link ". I went into town to check about a power chip for the truck but the blooming place was closed. On the way out of town, we saw the USS Lexington moored nearby and we will be going back to visit.
On January 31, I took the truck into town to get the turbo seals replaced. After almost 8 hours, I got the truck back all fixed up and the cost was less than $350. so that's great news. Also filled the truck 11.795 gl @$2.289
On the 2 Feb. we took both bikes in to be tuned up so now are ready for more biking. Bought some panniers for Val's bike so she can now carry some of the weight too. (just kidding). We also ordered more personal cards with our picture on it this time. Cost us $20 for 100. Pretty cheap for all the work she did.
Oh yeah! Got a big raise of $25./month on my pension....YIPPEE!!!! (being funny here)
On Feb 3, we came to the club house for a steak dinner at $7 each. They had a 50/50 draw and I WON....$46. to be exact. That paid for the dinner, the personal cards and part of the bike repairs.
Today is SUPER BOWL and they have a gathering here at the club. They will have some snacks and we have to bring our own booze. Game starts at 5 p.m. and is being played in Miami. To think we were near there.
That's it for now folks. Hopefully the weather will be better this coming week and we will have more to report.
