May15 to 20, 2006

May 15, Monday

Headed out from Logan Lake back to our site on the North Sushswap, after a good week-end. Got my passport papers signed by the local RCMP and all is well. As we headed down the Coquihalla, the truck started acting up again. We babied it all the way down to Kamloops at which time we were on the flats so could go faster without too much worry. Arrived at our home site on the North Sushwap early enough to enjoy a warm and sunny afternoon. Found that they didn't finish our grounds so another thing to be upset about! They had promised it would be all done by our return. DAMN!!!!!!!
I really don't know what it is that everything seems not to be working right for us right now!!!!

May 16, Tuesday
Took the truck to Kamloops at a shop recommended by Wayne in Logan Lake. He took it for a test drive and figures it is the transfer case but he won't know what is happening until he opens it so made an appointment for next Tuesday the 23rd.

May 17, Wedn.
Went to Logan Lake to pick up our meds. We have a year's supply now. Also picked up our garden table and chairs from the Kirkby's and came back home.

May 18th, Thursday
Left our site at 10 a.m. for Alberta. This is the week-end that Vanessa is playing her National Volleyball competition. Arrived at Marcel and Audrey in Olds at 6:30 p.m. local time.

May 19, Friday
Marcel has now started his own company as a oil field consultant and he has to go to a job in Medicine Hat so he left early. We went to Calgary to shop for a kayak and visited Dorothy whom we had met in Mexico. Her husband, Fred passed away at the end of April this year of cancer. We visited for two hours.
Things happen so fast in life. Fred died of stomach cancer but Dorothy says he didn't suffer much and it was quick. He was such a nice man and we had liked him right away. A gentle and soft spoken man who was enjoying life.
After the visit, we went to the Calgary University at the Olympic Oval Hall to see the girls' opening ceremony. There are teams form Yukon, NW territory, BC to Manitoba and even two teams form Ontario. 3500 players in all. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Came back to Olds for the night.

May 20th saw us back in Calgary to watch the games. Vanessa's team won both games they played in the afternoon. Chilliwack crowd was very loud and cheering them on. The girls kept looking at us and smiled a lot. They liked the support as we definitely were the loudest.
