Our home is now a Gated Community Park, in Oliver, British-Columbia, Canada. I retired in 2005 and my Life Companion, Valerie, retired October 1, 2006 from nursing. I've been reading other people blog and since I like being on the computer, I thought I would try this out. I don't know how long it will last or how often I;ll be able to enter narratives but we will give it a go.
This is mainly to allow an avenue for our family and friends to follow us while on the road and keep in touch (sort of).

We've been talking about doing full-time rving for about a year now and our trip to Mexico in the winter of '04/'05 was the deciding factor for both Val and I. We enjoyed it a lot and met wonderful people.

When we got back in April, we both had our minds set. In June, we traded our 34' Bounder for a fifth-wheel and truck. We got a F350 diesel, 7.3 liter and a 34' Medallion, McKenzie (So much for downsizing). We tried it out a couple times and even went to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho for a week.
In July, we made a list of what we wanted to keep and talked to our kids about they wanted from the house. We also went to Chilliwack and listened to the sale pitch for Holiday Trail RV resort. After a week of thinking about it, we bought into it. We also went to Kelowna and Keremeos to check out some RV lot for sale. The one in Kelowna ( http://www.sweetlife.com/ ) has RV lots from $24,000. cdn and the one in Keremeos is a co-op which has some attractive features for me however Val is leaning towards Kelowna. We'll see where we end up.

In August, we listed the house and it sold within a week! WOW! We didn't expect that! Reality and anxiety is setting in. Possession date is October 14! Good grief. But within our goal of November first. Val is now saying she will quit her job as of that date.

So this is our beginning! I am sure it will be filled with fun and good people/friends (new and old)
