June 1 to 7, 2008, Drummond'Ville & visitors from USA

Sunday June first was cloudy and rainy on and off. We got up late. Michel and Therese came over for a visit with Christiane in the afternoon and we visited all afternoon. They left around 4 p.m.
Gilles left around 7 p.m. for his job in Latuque and we watched TV for the rest of the evening

On Monday, we decided to go for a drive so we followed 4th Rang to hwy 243 through Richmond (approx 25 miles from here) and got on hwy 143 to Sherbrooke. We stopped for lunch in Windsor near Sherbrooke and I proceeded to get lost in the town of Sherbrooke. Finally found our way after asking for directions and got on Hwy 55 and returned to Drummond'Ville.
Got back around 4 p.m. and I went back to town to get some propane ($24. for 30 pounds tank)
We had lighting and thunder in the evening accompanied by heavy rain.

Tuesday the third was greeted by more clouds and rain in the morning but it did clear up in the afternoon. Val did exercises with Lise in the morning and we went shopping for groceries in the afternoon. I got the jacks that I had ordered from "Camping World", delivered by UPS. I bought those at $55 a pair and they were selling them here in Quebec for $135 a pair....quite a difference in price, ain't it????? I thought it would be a good idea to have those under the slides for support as we are here for a long term period. Call it preventive maintenance!

Thursday the 5th was sunny after the clouds cleared up and much warmer. Starting to feel like summer finally. Got a call from St-Cyr RV that they just got authorization to go ahead and order the parts for our repairs. Fleetwood has refused to replace the sink in the kitchen but will replace the one in the bathroom. Go figure!? A month to get this far?????? Good thing I am not paying full prices in a camping spot! Anyway, our appointment for the 16th was cancelled and re-scheduled for July 6
I also called Vallancourt RV about my suspension and have set up a tentative appointment for July 9
I vacuumed and cleaned the inside of the truck and replaced our sewer hose as it developed a small leak. I also replaced the light fixture in the bathroom which decided to quit, after the warranty is over of course.

Friday June 6 was cloudy and rainy in the morning. Went to town to pick up a couple of items for Gilles and our comforter at the dry-cleaner

Saturday the 7th was clear but humid and hot. We had the A/C on for the first time as the temperature in the rig climbed to 85*F and the humidity to 90%. My niece, Veronique, and her two daughters came over for a visit and spent the day with us. They drove all the way up here from Springfields, Massachusetts, a 6 hours drive. The kids swam in the lake but we didn't have the courage....water too cold. When she learned that Jeffrey was coming on the 7 of July, she promised to be back. We had a very nice visit and a big fire with marshmallow and the works. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and riding the canoe.
