JUNE 8, Monday, Chilliwack.
A quiet day after a busy week-end! We went to town and dropped off our bedspread to a dry-cleaner then went looking for replacement bags for my shop-vac but had no success. Came home and Val finished the laundry while I finished off a couple of little jobs. We had dinner then watched a movie...Valkyrie...pretty good!
JUNE 9, Tuesday, to Coquitlam
We went to Coquitlam today to visit Val’s daughter and family before we head out on Thursday. We first stopped at the BCAA office in Chilliwack to drop off my papers for reimbursement on the Mexico trip then we headed out.
We had a nice visit with them and even went to see Jenaya’s swimming lesson; she is quite good for a 5 years old. We had dinner out on the back-porch then we showed Joanne and John the pictures of the grad. I called my son earlier telling him that we would see him next week-end as we ran out of time. We came home around midnight.
JUNE 10, Wednesday, packing day.
A sunny day! Val met a friend whom she hadn’t seen in a few years and they spent a few hours together. In the meantime, I did a few errands, loaded the bikes and kayaks and the rest of the stuff, put together the BBQ we had bought a while back and threw the old one away. I picked up Val around 3 p.m. and we bought a few groceries for dinner as Val is cooking tonight for the gang... Danish Meatballs, mashed potatoes and green beans. It was a success of course and we kept some for Vanessa as she is working. After dinner, we all went out to rent a movie then to Dairy Queen where Vanessa works and we had an ice cream. Came home and watched the movie, James Bond :”Solace in the sun” We all went to bed afterwards after saying goodbye to everyone that is working in the morning.
We are leaving tomorrow for Logan Lake.
