August 29 to 31, 2009 Gateway

AUG. 29, Saturday, Gateway
Val went to work this morning and I took the garbage out and the empty bottles to the recycling depot in Scotch Creek. I visited with Ron and Theresa for a while and when Val got home, we all went over to Marcel and Donna for happy hour. Everyone came over to our place and we BBQ’ed everyone's dinner and had it inside our place as the wasps were terrible.
In the evening, we sat by the fire and enjoyed a smoky time (The air is full of smoke from all the fires surrounding us in the mountains. There are now 4 major fire.)

AUG 30, Sunday, Gateway
A very quiet day at home, Val went to work; this is her last shift unless they call her in again. I was a bit hung over from last night so I had a snooze in the afternoon. My grand-daughter, Vanessa, called to announce her official Engagement to her beau, then later, we got a call from Don and Joanne inviting us over to their cottage in Scotch Creek for dinner so we went over. We had a very nice dinner and pleasant visit. We talked about our mutual plans for the coming year. Theirs sounded more interesting...they are going to Australia for 3-4 months amd plan on renting an RV and doing some travelling while there.
We came home around 9 p.m. and watched an episode of SHIELD!

AUG. 31, Monday, Gateway
Another month gone by! Time is just a flying by! The air is very smoky this morning and the sun appears red through the smoke. We definitely need a couple days of rain. We got a call this morning from South Thompson...our new rig is ready for pick-up so we made arrangement to do it tomorrow. We spent the rest of the day unloading stuff we could leave here, filled 3 boxes of stuff so that will be less stuff to transfer over. I also took down all the pictures and hooks we had up.
We went over to Theresa and Ron for happy hour then came home and BBQ chicken for dinner. Watched SHIELD in the evening
