July 24 to 31, 2014; Work, shopping and visitors from AZ

JUL  24 to 28; Work and visit from Arizona
What a day!  It rained all day and we had to work in that!  A couple trees came down in the Park so we had to clear that then it was site cleaning and we ended the day by placing new “Recycling bins” throughout the Park; I came home soaked right through even with a rain coat on.  Val left work early to take Tucker to the Vet to have his coughing checked out.  After a couple shots and more meds, he came home and thanked Val by piing on the passenger seat on her way back home (he couldn’t help it due to the shots he received).  He seems better right now and the coughing is down.

Friday was sunny again and we had visitors from Arizona, Kim and Tim, friends we met in Mexico years ago and have kept in touch with and visited from time to time at their home.  Pat and Rick brought them down from Logan Lake (Thanks guys).  We visited here at our place then went out for dinner at Quaaout Lodge!  We had a marvelous visit but it had to end too soon unfortunately.  We were home by 9 pm and in bed by 10!

The rest of the week was work, work, BBQ dinners and watched the end of “Boardwalk”.  It got hotter as the week-end went on…33*C on Sunday!  Monday being our “Friday” was hot but quiet.  We had a quiet HH then ate the perogies that Val’s partner at work gave her.  They were delicious; I want more!  We began watching the 3rd season of “Boardwalk, the Empire”

JUL  29, Tuesday; Home
This is wash day and chores around the place. It is also a very hot day; 36*C in pm!  Our heat wave is back for another week!  BBQ’ed chicken for dinner then we watched another episode of Boardwalk.  I am really enjoying this series. The A/C is working hard to cool things off; I think we are going to have a horrendous Hydro bill!!!

JULY  30, Wednesday; to Salmon Arm
Again we had a late morning and I cooked pancakes for breakfast.  After showering, we went to Salmon Arm to get our mail and groceries.  I got a refund from my Extended Health on our glasses so I deposited that cheque; unfortunately, still no refund from ICBC.  We also stopped at the Vet and got more pills for Tucker’s coughing.  He now has more pills than us!!!  We came home, put everything away and relaxed as much as one can in this heat (33*C at 3 pm).  We bought a cooked chicken for dinner and I made fries which I cooked in our “T-Fal”.

JULY  31, Thursday; Back to work
End of another month and 5 weeks left at work!  Another hot day and we had to cut lawn in the morning which made it even hotter.  Management had a BBQ for all of us at lunch.  An uneventful day!
