APR 20 to 24; More work
Week
began in the shop cutting and installing slot boards and running errands and
washing all the trucks. Tuesday and Wednesday was more work in the shop
painting, building and door framing. It
rained on Wednesday but the sun did come out in the afternoon. Thursday was transport day going to Burnaby
and doing some pick up and drop off.
Back at the shop, I loaded the truck with windows and doors to be
delivered on Friday. Last day of the
week and it was an easy quiet one. After
delivering in Agassiz, I came back to the shop and finished off the doorway
between both shops then painting the frame and put the door back on. I did a couple of minor jobs then was home by
3 pm. Val was away at Rochelle’s house
doing laundry. She also did some grocery
shopping. Our evening was a quiet one at
home.
APR 25, Saturday; shopping
for a new car
Tried
but couldn’t sleep in so I was up by 6:30 am!
It poured rain all evening yesterday and overnight too but now the sun
is trying to peek through and the forecast is for improved weather today and
warmer. It only got to 48*F yesterday
and we even had a hail storm as I was driving home. We’ve been thinking about replacing Val’s car,
the Elantra. It is old (01) and is
beginning to show its age. It has been
good to us but maybe it’s time to look for something newer. We did see and try a couple of cars we liked
but resisted making any deals yet. At
5:30pm, we drove to Port Coquitlam and met friends Donna & Marcel, Theresa
& Ron where we went to see a show and dinner at the “GIGGLE DAM”. It was a comedy on the “Roaring 20’s” and we
had a marvellous time, a great dinner and lots of laughs; the place was full! We got home at midnight and went straight to
bed!
APR 26, Sunday; shopping
in Abbotsford
I
actually slept in this morning, sort of!
I woke up at 6:30 but forced myself to go back to sleep and got up at
8:30 am. After breakfast, we drove to
ABBOTSFORD to look at more vehicles at an Auto Mall. Only two dealers were open; the first one had
nothing in our price range but the second one, Hyundai Dealer, had a Santa Fe
that we took for a drive and fell in love with.
We did some haggling over the price and it came down to a price which we
could accept so before we knew it, we were the proud owners of a 2008 grey
Hyundai Santa Fe. It has 126 thousand
kilometer on it and runs like a charm.
We have a one year warranty on it too.
We traded the Elantra for it. We
drove away in our new vehicle and went to Costco to get some buns and vitamins
than came back home but first stopped at Rochelle and Kevin to show them the
new vehicle. We had dinner than watched
our favorite programs, MADAM SECRETARY and GOOD WIFE.
