July 27 to 31, 2015; Last work week in July

JULY 27 to 31; one more work week
A slow week with not much work for me although everyone else is busy.  I got a surprise call on Wednesday in that MTNVIEW SHOP phoned to say they would be in in the afternoon to work on the A/C.  GUESS WHAT!!? THEY NEVER SHOWED!  Not even a call to say why or apologized.  I also had an appointment with the Eye Doctor at 3:45 pm to have my left eye examine one more time as it is really bothering me, especially in the morning and evening when I am reading.  Don, the owner of MTNVIEW, finally showed up on Thursday and Val was home and gave him a piece of her mind!  Good for her.  And all that to finally admit that his guys screwed up and the A/C we have is the wrong one and so is the control box.  He promised Val that he would get right on it (YEA right!!)  Friday was very busy for me; I had a bunch of windows to take apart and I was called out to deliver parts to Rob and ended up helping him as he sprain his ankle.

This is a long week-end and I am looking forward to three days off (BC DAY!). It was a VERY HOT day, 36*C!

July 20 to 26, 2015; Still no action on the A/C repairs and rain finally!

JULY 20 to 24; Another work week
I went to work this morning but was home by 10 am as there was nothing for me to do.  I called UPS in Salmon Arm to have our mail forwarded.  I only worked 2 hrs on Monday and 5 hrs on Tuesday!  Not looking very good since I have to use my holiday hours to make up the difference.  I went to MTN RV Shop on Monday and talked to Don, the owner.  Right now, I can only play the game of “wait and see”!  Wednesday was another slow day, I was off by noon!  In the afternoon, I drove to Abbotsford to pick a cheque from Hyundai and deposited it in the bank; I also visited grand-daughter Hayley at her work site SEPHORA near the dealership in Abbotsford; quite impressive!  Val was supposed to be off but ended working until 4 pm.  Thursday was a weird one!  First I couldn’t go until 9 pm as ACCURATE DOORS in Burnaby wouldn’t have the steel frames ready until 11 am so I took some old windows apart then I took some locks over to Mini-Access for Rob and gave him a hand with a door that had to be trimmed.  In Burnaby, I picked up 10 steel frame then made a stop in Abbotsford to pick a chair for Rochelle’s office.  Back at the shop, I foamed all the steel frames then delivered them to a job site in Vedder-Crossing.  Back at the shop, I put Rochelle’s chair together.  That made for a full day.  Temperature is dropping and is more comfortable.  Friday was much slower and I went home by noon but first, we received glass from OLD CASTLE, three doors from MESONITE and over 40 windows from GENTEK.  It was a busy morning.
In the afternoon, I went to MTNVIEW RV to see about my repairs and got the same song and dance; they are busy with their customers in the shop and he still hasn’t heard from DOMETIC which I don’t believe for one second!  I AM SO F#*@&*# DISGUSTED WITH THOSE A...H….!!!  I went to O’Connor and after talking with Service Manager, I made an appointment to have the A/C connections fixed properly.  My appointment is August 15, and they said they can have it together in a couple of hours.  I decided to take my lost and get it done.  I have learned my lesson and I planned to write to BBB, RV TIMES, local papers, the RVAD and sites on the internet about that outfit and their shady customer relations.
We went for supper at MR MIKE on Friday evening

JULY 25, SATURDAY;
Talk about a lazy day!  Morning was reading and blogging while Val did the laundry.  We made the bed and put on a memory foamy under the sheet as Val is still having problems with her neck.  In the afternoon, she went grocery shopping and I felt asleep for a couple hours.  In the evening, we watched the “SHINDLER LIST”   It rained quite heavily at times and overnight; it should help all the fires!
I wrote to Good Sam about my problems with MTNVIEW; hopefully they can help!?

JULY 26, SUNDAY;

Rain, cloudy most of the day.  Another lazy and relaxing morning.  We took the soft bed cover back to Rochelle as Val feels it isn’t helping the problem with her neck and we now have the memory foam.  Val decided to clean the leather on the sofa and chairs then wash the floor so I was banned to the bedroom for a while.  It finally cleared later in the afternoon.  Val made lasagna for dinner!

July 13 to 19, 2015; Work and relaxing week-end

JULY 13 to 17; Work week
A busy week with lots of work, deliveries and pick-ups.  The day would start slow then pick up and go crazy which was OK by which meant more work.  Graeme and Courtenay got a new dog named MANNY; a Whippet puppy and so cute, Graeme’s been bringing him to work every day so everyone gets to play with him.  He is the Star for this week.  Still no action on our A/C repair.  The “boss” is on holiday and the other guy is giving me the round-around.  I am so fed up with this outfit!  Friday, we went to “MAJOR LEAGUE Pub” for dinner.  It was very busy and loud; I think I prefer MR MIKE!

JULY 18, SATURDAY;
I spent the morning removing caulking from the bathroom and Val did the laundry.  After showering and brunch, I showered and caught up to the blog while Val went grocery shopping.  We had HH with R&K along with Russ and Cathy.  Came home, had a light dinner then watched more of our recordings.  It was a hot day again with the A/C working overtime!

JULY 19, SUNDAY
Val made breakfast this morning then, after clean-up, we took a drive to Chilliwack Lake.  I hadn’t been there since the early 90’s and what a change.  The sub-division is quite busy, the Provincial Park has been improved on and they now have Park Operators and it was BUSY!!!  The small beach was full.  We walked around a bit then I wanted to drive to the end of the lake and see that place as I used to take groups of youths there to cut drift wood and clean up the area in general back in the 80’s.  The road is no longer maintained so there was a lot of pot holes.  I was amazed at the amount of cars and trucks parked along the way.  People will do anything of a little piece of quietness!  When we got to the end, there was a locked gate so we couldn’t drive to the lake; that meant walking for a good half mile and since it was hot, we decided against but instead, found a small creek where we sat and had our snack that we had brought.  We drove back to town and stopped at McD for ice cream before heading for home and dinner.  A good day overall!  It was a really HOT day again today!

July 6 to 12, 2015; work and visit from Jeffrey

JULY 6 to 10; Work
The “new” A/C quit working on us!?  And to top it all, they didn’t hook-up the furnace control.  I am definitely not impressed.  Busy week at work.  Everyone is busy installing windows and that keeps me busy delivering and helping installing which I did on Monday and Tuesday.  When not busy installing, I take the old windows apart for the aluminium.  On Wednesday, I helped Andrew on his job then Thursday was “Pick-up” day and also delivered windows for another job locally.  Friday, I called MTNVIEW RV about the completion of my A/C and once again got the run-around.  I’ll never deal with these people again; lesson learn, stick with reputable companies like O’Connor and Cottonwood RV.  It finally clouded over and cooled off quite a bit which made pleasant to work.  It will also help all the fires hopefully.

JULY 11, SATURDAY;
It rained overnight.  We went to Abbotsford Mall to check on a watch band but no luck so I ended buying a new one.  We also checked on our refund at the dealership but no luck there either except that it is coming!  We also stopped at “Foam Shop” for a foam for our bed but they didn’t have a queen size in stock so we came home.  At 3:30 pm, we drove to Russ and Cathy for HH and didn’t get home until 8 pm.  I got quite drunk as one of the friends had liqueur that I should never have sample!!!!  I don’t remember going to bed!!

JULY 12, SUNDAY;
I woke up with a hang-over this morning!  It also rained overnight again.  Val did laundry and I re-caulked the bathroom sinks and the baseboards.  Jeffrey showed up for a visit and introduced us to his new friend, Kim, very pretty and nice.  They stayed for a couple hours and we had a nice visit.  Val made a stew for dinner then we watched some of our recordings.

July 1 to 5, 2015; Visit with Val's grand-kids and BBQ at our house

JULY 1, 2015; HAPPY CANADA DAY!
I sat most of the day waiting for the guys to install our A/C and they didn’t show up.  When I called he had some feeble excuse and I got angry and told him a piece of my mind for making me waste a whole day.  Val went shopping for groceries and a couple of other things.  It was a HOT one again.

JUL 2-3; WORK!
Back to work on Thursday for some delivery and pick-ups then I spent more time tearing old window frames apart.  I was home by 4 pm.  The service guys were here early this morning to install the A/C and it is now nicely cool in the house.  Friday was the balance of the frames, clean up shop and the truck, take delivery of 20 new windows from GENTEK then to Kevin’s uncle Ron to pick up a saw and take it to the Home Shop.  I got home by 1 pm, showered and got ready for an eye appointment at 3:45 pm which turned out to be an infection of the left eye and was prescribed eye drops for 4 days.  My vision has also improved a bit (!???) so I am getting new lenses.  Blue Cross and Medicare paid for most of it all.

JULY 4, SATURDAY; Visit with grand-kids
Sunny and HOT again today.  After our usual lazy Saturday morning, we went to Holiday Trail campground and visited Joanne, John and the two grand-daughters; Jenaya & McKinley.  Of course, we spent most of the afternoon at the waterslide next door (which belongs to Holiday Trail now) then we had dinner with everyone out by their new trailer.  Afterwards we all went for a walk and ended up at John’s sister lot in the same campground and had a very nice visit.  We finally got home at midnight.  It was a fun-fill day!

JULY 5, SUNDAY; BBQ
I was up early so that I could wash the Santa Fe which I did.  After showering and breakfast, we went to Costco to buy some stuff for the BBQ later.  This has been the hottest day thus far: 96*F!  I went to CDN TIRE and bought a sun canopy for the BBQ.  Rochelle and Kevin, Hayley and brother Johnny and his girlfriend (new) Gabrielle were in attendance.  We sat around for a while then I cooked sweet corn and hamburger and potato salad from Costco.  We had a great visit and it was so nice to have Hayley over.  We tried to invite Graeme and Courtenay but they had other plans and we couldn’t reach Vanessa.  Everyone was gone by ten and we headed for bed soon after
