July 23 to 31, 2013; End of the month in Lee Creek

JUL  23 to 31; Sister and brother in Law arrived from Montreal, Quebec.

We went to Kamloops today (Tuesday) to pick up Val’s eye contacts and a few groceries.  It is very hot out there, at least 35-36*C and it is forecasted to last until at least Saturday.

Wednesday we went boating with Bob and Gail on their boat.  We swam and cooled off nicely for about 3 hours.  It was great, we even got Val and Gail on a float and drag behind the boat.  A lot of fun was had by all.  It was a good way to beat the heat!

Back to work on Thursday and in the evening, I spoke with Jeffrey, Rochelle, Kevin, Debbie (Jeff girlfriend), and Therese and Michel from Montreal (my sister and brother-in-law).  They arrived yesterday and Jeff was having a BBQ in their honor tonight.  It is so nice to see my little family together like that; I wish I could have been there.

Friday was payday for both of us, I worked an hour overtime because of a load of firewood came in late and I had to stick around to let him in and lock up after him and then do the last run of refuse pick-up.

We woke up Saturday to very strong winds and cooler temperature (below 30*C) which made for a nice change.

Sunday we had some sprinkle but nothing to make things really wet.  Bob and Gail joined us at the Scotch Creek Pub for the famous “Sunday Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding”; absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection!  Donna and Marcel joined us as we were just to leave.  We left but B&G stayed back to keep them company.

Monday, our “Friday”, was very warm, sunny and a few clouds in the afternoon.  HH at our place with Bob & Gail and Ed & Judy!  Morris and his wife Brenda were in the park visiting everyone.  It was good seeing them; they used to own the lot next to Donna and Marcel but due to unfortunate circumstances, they had to sell.  There is a lot of discontentment around due to uncertainties which won’t be resolve until the owner goes to court in September against CSRD, the Political Regional Body.

Tuesday, our first day off, Val went to Tai-Chi class in Chase with Gail and Donna then afterwards we went to Salmon Arm for our mail and some groceries.  I talked to Jeff who will now bring up my sister and husband on Aug 10 and spend a couple nights with us.  T&M will have Brooks’ trailer to stay in for 4 nights.  Very warm today, 30*+ C

Wednesday, the 31st, another month gone by.  Sunny and very warm, we’ve now had a whole month of sunshine with little to no rain worth recording.  We spent the day dumping, washing vehicles, doing laundry and vacuuming the inside of our house.  HH was at our place again and Dennis and Ruth joined us.  For dinner, we had Mahi-Mahi fish with rice then it was relaxing before work tomorrow!

July 16 to 22, 2013; Gateway, Lee Creek

JUL  16 to 22
Two days off, hurray!!!  Today, the 16th is my son Jeffrey’s birthday; we called him to wish him a Happy Birthday!  We went to Salmon Arm today to pick up our mail and some groceries.  It is a warm day!  We had spare ribs for dinner, delicious!

Wednesday was laundry and wash day for the vehicles then we had HH at Bob’s place.  Ed and Judy have returned from Alberta and brought over our beer. (It is much cheaper in Alberta)

Back to work on Thursday for both of us!  We’ve had small rain falls on and off, especially early in the morning but then hot for the rest of the day.

Finally days off, the last day was especially long and boring, so much so I left an hour early as there was nothing to do and I didn’t feel like driving around for an hour.  HH at our place with Donna and Marcel then I BBQ’ed Mahi-Mahi fish we bought at COSTCO.  It was delicious.  I spoke with Rochelle, Jeffrey and Johnny about next week when Therese and Michel are in BC.
We had a fire in the evening and Gail & Bob joined us.

July 11 to 15, 2013; Lee Creek

Back to work this morning; Val slept in so was late for work, not a happy camper!  It’s been very warm and of course the mosquitoes are a heavy nuisance, especially when wanting to sit out.  CSRD does have a spray program but it doesn’t seem to make much of an impact on the population!!!  On Friday I booked a flight for Val’s trip to Toronto in August so that’s out of the way.  We also got our first paycheque!!!  On Monday the 15, we went out to the local Pub in Scotch Creek.  There were 7 of us sharing a very good dinner.  We all came home sober and without incident.  We were both in bed by 9 pm, tired.

July 6 to 10, 2013; Lee Creek

JUL  6 to 10
Another week completed at work, now to enjoy our two days off!  We had a small rain fall on Monday for about 10 minutes then the sun came back out.  We went to Kamloops on Tuesday to Costco for Val’s lenses and did some shopping while in town; it was a hot day to boot!  I had a meeting to attend at 6 pm regarding the revamping of the rules for Gateway, Dan, Bob, Eileen and Kelly were in attendance.  It was a good meeting however by 9 pm, we were not finished so agreed to meet again on Wednesday at the same time at which time we did complete all the rules.

July 1 to 5, 2013; Gateway

JULY  1 to 5, 2013; Lee Creek
Another month begins!  Canada Day was busy both at the Park and here at Gateway.  Lots of kids around and noisy!  We were off Tuesday and Wednesday; we did our usual stuff...Salmon Arm for mail and groceries and Val did a couple loads of laundry including our uniforms on Wednesday.  We saw two young deer walking through our yard and next door.  They lingered long enough for me to take a couple pictures then they slowly meandered down the road towards the main road.  It was really neat to watch them.  HH was at our place with everyone showing up including Dennis. (I think he needs a break from all the grand-kids whom are staying at his place for the next month!!!)
Back to work on Thursday for both of us.  I BBQ’ed a very nice rainbow trout for dinner, given to us by a friend.  It was delicious!
