November 25 to 30, 2014; Work, work, work and cold spell

NOV  25, Tuesday;
7 am came early for work but I got there in time.  I had to go to a job site and pick up a frame and bring it back to the shop where we took it apart and fixed it. (It had been put together backwards).  After that I took it back to the job site then helped around the shop until I had to take some frames to Graeme at his work site and ended the day there.  Once again, a good day with more learnings for me!  It rained most of the afternoon, heavy at times.

NOV  26, Wednesday;
Cloudy and rain again!  There is a heavy rain warning in effect for later this afternoon and tonight.  It was a shop day for me and I worked part of it with Todd who is on light duty due to back injury at work a week ago.  We worked on cutting and gluing panels for the P.O. job.  He left around noon and after lunch I cleaned the shop, took some old windows apart and loaded windows destined for Abbotsford job tomorrow.  By 2:30 pm I pretty well had everything done that I could do so I signed out and came home.

NOV  27, Thursday;
Today was pick-up day!  I had to go to Abbotsford first and drop off a few glass for the doors then it on to Aldergrove to drop off some door jam that have to be redone.  From here, I went to Surrey then back to Langley to pick up doors and back again to Aldergrove to pick up the new door jams.  I ended up in Abbotsford helping Graeme and the crew.  We were back in Chilliwack by 4:30 and home by 5 pm.  A quiet evening catching up to some of our recordings then to bed early again.

NOV  28, Friday; Pay Day!
More rain, and much colder as the day progressed.  We spent the day in Abbotsford working outside and inside installing glass in the partition that have been installed by other workers.  The job is nearing its end!  We got back by 4:30 and once home, I had a quick shower and dinner.  At 7pm, we went to Rochelle and Kevin for a Happy Hour; Russ and Cathy, friends of R&K were also there.  We got home at midnight!

NOV  29, Saturday; shopping
Wow!  Did I ever have a lazy morning; I didn’t get up until 10 am!  I must have needed the sleep.  It is a very cold day, -10C this morning and sunny.  We went to town and bought a small artificial Christmas tree with lights already on and also bought some little decorations.  We stopped at FUTURE SHOP to purchase a mouse and pad for Val’s computer (my old one) then we drove to the storage and got a couple things from the motorhome including the registered tags which I return to ICBC and got a refund on the insurance.  At 4pm, we went to our pub in Sardis and had a drink and dinner then we went to the movie theatre to see “Mocking Jay, Part one”.  It was Ok but not as good as the “Hunger Games” which was the previous story.  We are looking forward to Part two!
We came home and watched some tube and I was in bed by 10 pm.

NOV  30, Sunday; GREY CUP!

I was up at a decent time this morning.  It is sunny and -5C!  I watched some of the NFL football games and at 3pm, the Grey Cup.  Calgary won but it should have been Hamilton.  Oh well!!!  Val is getting a cold and it’s getting worse.  It was an early night for me.

October 20 to 24, 2014;Work and time off

NOV  20, Thursday; My day for deliveries & pick-ups
It was a busy day for driving.  I had to go to two places in Burnaby beside other pick-ups in Aldergrove and Langley.  After dropping off one door at the “Melissa/Stan” project in Aldergrove, I went to the Abbotsford project to help the guys.  About 15 minutes later, just when I was organized, Kevin called and sent me to pick up another door in Langley and delivered it in Aldergrove to the same project and pick up a door that didn’t fit.  It was a busy day and I didn’t finish until 5 pm.  To top things off, the jeep wouldn’t start so, with the help of the guys at GREEN ACRES, we pushed the jeep into the garage (it is next door to Kevin’s shop) for the night.  Rochelle gave me a ride home.

NOV  21, Friday; TGIF
It rained all day and I am coming down with a cold, I have the sniffles!  Two of us worked on a private house installing four windows.  I got home at 5 pm and had a hot shower
Then a marvellous dinner cooked by my sweetie.  I was in bed early, couldn’t stay awake

NOV  22, Saturday; Sick like a dog!
I woke up all sweaty, with the sniffles and a constant cough.  I poured in every meds I have in the house trying to suppress this.  Val went to the corner store to get me more meds and cough syrup.  Later in the day, we called grand-son Graeme to welcome them back from their honeymoon and to congratulate them on their marriage.  I was in bed very early.

NOV  23, Sunday;
I had a very lousy sleep; I was up at 2 am for about an hour coughing and sniffling before trying to go back to bed.  When I got up at 7 am, I felt a bit better but not much.  Val did laundry today and I nursed my cold.  Watched football Seahawks beat Arizona, Montreal losing to Hamilton and Calgary winning over Edmonton.  Some good games.  Val cooked a roast for dinner then we watched the tube.  I am feeling a bit better, especially after a snooze this afternoon.

NOV  24, Monday; Work
A busy and day!  We went to a new job in Sardis putting up partition and glass in an office complex.  At 1 pm, Graeme, who is back from honeymooning, drove me back to the office where I got the delivery truck and delivered a door at the “Home Shop” then the glass to the Sardis job.  From there, I went to Langley and Aldergrove to pick up doors which the customer will pick up first thing in the morning.  I got home at 5:30pm.  In bed early as I have to get up at 55 tomorrow

November 13 to 19, 2014; Vanessa birthday and shopping for winter clothes

NOV  13, Thursday; To Hope
It was blooming cold this morning, only 2*C at 9 am.  It felt much colder in Hope where we worked today, since the sun didn’t come out from behind the mountain until 1 pm.  We had to install new windows in an ad-on at a business here and were completed by 3:30 pm and back at the shop by 4:15.  Still learning a lot and that’s good!  A quiet evening catching up to more recordings on the PVR.

NOV  14, Friday; transport and a short day!  Vanessa Birthday.
I spent my day driving to Langley and Aldergrove dropping off and picking up.  I made a stop in Abbotsford where I dropped off a door and some capping then came back to the shop.  I unloaded a door, cleaned up the truck and signed out.  I was home by 3 pm.  Val is out shopping for groceries and whatever else so I am catching up to the blog and some finances.

NOV  15, Saturday; Shopping for winter clothes
After a relaxing and lazy morning, we went to town to MARKS where I bought a pair of wool gloves/mitts for work then we went to the MH where I got my toque, leather gloves and cowboy hat and Val got some of her warmer clothes too.  We went to our favorite local pub and had a beer and appies then came home.  More relaxing and watching the tube

NOV  16, Sunday;
Watched football; Seattle vs Kansas City.  Seattle lost!  We drove to Abbotsford after the game to Costco and bought buns and feta cheese.  Coming home, we took a different route via Yarrow and came out in Vedder Crossing then up the hill to our place.  Val made a stew for dinner and we ate early as we had to go to Rochelle & Kevin’s house for birthday cake and ice cream; it was Vanessa birthday this past Friday.

NOV  17 to 19; More work!
The last three days were busy and I got to work on some different projects, one being getting a skyline over a pool ready to have windows installed.  I also did some deliveries.  Today was spent on Abbotsford’s project.  It’s been sunny but cold and today was the warmest of them all at 7*C and no winds; a pleasant day.  At home, I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon and never resolved the problem.  I also had to call VIRGIN as they over-billed me.  What a way to spend an evening!!!

November 8 to 12, 2014; Visitors and work

NOV  8 Saturday; Dinner with the Unger seniors
I spent the morning working on my computer bringing programs and finances to date.  In the afternoon, I went to the storage where the MH is and started the motor and the generator and checked out the Unit overall.  I came home after stopping to pick up new batteries for the alarm clock.
Sid and Vera (Kevin’s parents) came over for dinner.  We had another very nice and fun evening with them and Val cooked a dish we previously had and liked.  I think they liked too as Vera asked for the recipe.  They left around 8 pm and we watched the tube for the balance of the evening.

NOV  9, Sunday; Time off
We spent the day at home relaxing, watching football and catching up to all our PVR recording.  It was also a left-over day for dinner and lunch.  From 7 pm, I went on a fasting for more blood test tomorrow morning.

NOV  10, Monday; Back to work
A regular day at work.  We all went to the Post Office and worked on capping and pressure plating the windows and doors.  We were back at the office by 4:30 pm and I took Kevin’s truck back to the house as they are arriving tomorrow and back to work on Wednesday.  At home, Val made one of my favorites: meat balls, gravy and potatoes with green veggie of course!  We watched the tube and I was in bed by 9:30 pm.  It was sunny all day but sure cold in the morning.  It did warm up enough to wear short sleeve while working.

NOV  11, Tuesday; Day off, Remembrance Day!
Another sunny, windy and cold day; winter is approaching!  Rochelle, Kevin and the rest of the gang should be arriving sometime today; looking forward to hear all about it and see the pictures.  We watched Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa.  Val went for a walk with cousin Linda and I washed the dishes, made my lunch for tomorrow and a few computer things.  It is sunny outside but cold; only 4*C (38F)!  For dinner, Val made a nice new dish with chicken and noodles then we watched some of our recorded programs.

NOV  12, Wednesday; Kevin back at work
Even though Kevin and Rochelle got home at 3 am, Kevin was at work to get us organized but soon left after.  Both of them were complaining of “jet lag”.  Anyway, we spent the day in Abbotsford and were back by 4:30 pm.  At home, it was a quiet evening.

November 1 to 7, 2014; Work and family get togethers

NOV  1 2014, Saturday; Days off
We woke to blue sky and sunshine but a cold 6*C!  Last evening, we met Rochelle and Kevin at ORIGINAL JOE where Hayley and Vanessa work and had a couple drinks and appies.  Doreen (Rochelle’s mom) and Gord also joined us and we all had a great evening.  I posted pictures on Facebook and Picasa Web and Val did laundry in the morning.  In the afternoon, we went to the Mall and ended up at the Pub for appies and a couple beers while we watched the Lions getting a beating, we left at half time.  In the evening we went to the movie theatre for the first time in a long time to see “FURY”.  It was worth it!  Came home, had a nightcap then to bed

NOV  2, Sunday;
We turned all clocks and watches one hour back this morning!  We spent the morning catching up to some of our recording on the PVR.  Jeffrey came over to do his laundry and we had a nice visit but he didn’t want to stay for dinner and left around 5 pm.  We got a call earlier Rochelle that there would be a “get-together” this evening at “Friendly Mike” restaurant.  We attended and celebrated Graeme and Courtenay soon to be wedding.  There were 17 people in attendance including all the grand-parents on Graeme’s family side.  That went on for a couple hours and was fun.  We said goodbye to everyone and wished them all a wonderful trip filled with lots of fun.

NOV  3, Monday; to work
I went back to work this morning and was given my marching orders by Kevin for the balance of the week.  I am working with Joe and we are the only two here until Thursday as Todd and Rob are in Babine Lake up north on a job.  Anyway, after some disoriented organizing, Joe and I finally got to work at the Post Office project in Abbotsford.  When we got back to the shop, everyone was gone.
Val did more job searching and kept herself busy.  It was a very rainy day and when I got home, I had to put everything in the drier.

NOV  4, Tuesday; Work and wine
Joe and I headed back to Abbotsford to do more capping on the windows.  Joe wasn’t feeling good so we headed back to the shop by 2 pm.  I continued working by cleaning the back of the Cube Van and loaded some windows that have to be delivered tomorrow.  I was home by 3:30 pm.
Val was busy bottling our wine and bringing that home.  We had left over for dinner then a relaxing evening.  It was cloudy in the morning and sunny breaks in the afternoon.

NOV  5, Wednesday;
This was a fairly decent day weather-wise!  We loaded the balance of the windows then Joe had to go for blood test so I went to the customer house and delivered his window.  Thank goodness there were a couple guys there to help.  I returned to the shop where I picked up Joe who had returned and went to wash the delivery truck which got back for Babine Lake last night; it was absolutely filthy from mud and road grids.  After that job, we picked up doors and delivered them to a customer in Aldergrove.  The rest of the day was spent at the Post Office.  I was home by 4:15 pm! A quiet evening at home than to bed.

NOV  6, Thursday; Transport day
I spent most of the morning doing pick-up and deliveries then went to Abbotsford to join the crew and assist them.  I did more “beauty capping” which is the final stage in the window face.  Driving home, we hit a freak wind and rain storm that lasted about 1o minutes before quitting.  Another quiet evening at home and to bed early

NOV  7, Friday; TGIF
A nice day with the sun shining through in the afternoon.  I had a delivery to make in Chehalis in Agassiz then back to Abbotsford but first, I had to pick up some stores in Surrey and Langley.  It was another nice day.  In the evening, we met Cheryl and her husband Shawn at the local BEST WESTERN Hotel for a fund raising.  We had a very nice reunion and visit and were home by 10 pm.
